A quiet bit of gardening has turned into a green fingered competition at Granby Rose Care Home in Harrogate.
Home Manager, Sarah Jackson-Bargh explains: “It all started off with the residents enjoying the sunshine and planting a few blooms to brighten up the garden. Now we have a full blow gardening competition on our hands as residents planted pumpkin seeds. They want to see whose can grow the biggest for Halloween.
“This is just the start as our green fingered brigade also plan to grow tomatoes, leeks and onions. Fingers crossed we’ll get a good harvest, unless the weather ruins it. Watch this space.”
We’ll keep you updated with the comings and growings of Granby Rose. It’ll be interesting to see if anyone encourages their seeds to grow by talking to them.
