The Rookery Care Home in Ebbw Vale celebrated the Queen’s birthday in style as part of their Care Home Open Day.
Gail Llewelyn, Home Manager, explains: “Everyone at the home got involved with the celebrations and we all wish Her Majesty a very happy 90th birthday. We welcomed members of the local community into the home and they helped us celebrate by tucking into a right royal tea party before being entertained by a local entertainer.”
Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities. Events like the one at The Rookery Care Home will help to create lasting links between the residents and their local community.
Care Home Open Day is all about showing people what care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of the local community, developing relationships across the generations.
