Residents at Ringshill Care Home in Huntingdon whooped for joy, as their World Animal Day celebrations saw them joined by the Raptor Foundation.
No they weren’t joined by dinosaurs, but some feathered friends.
Katie Wilkinson, Home Manager, said: “World Animal Day gave us an excuse to bring in an organisation who can show our residents a variety of birds. Our residents got hands on stroking and holding the birds whilst finding out all there is to know about them.
“One of our residents was very taken with the birds and didn’t want to see them go.”
World Animal Day is celebrated on Tuesday 4th October each year and aims to raise the status of animals to improve their welfare standards around the globe, making the world a better place for them.
