Sensory garden now in full bloom at Marlborough Court

Two residents at Marlborough Court Care Home in Thameside embraced nature as they helped the Activities Leader brighten up the garden.

Hayley Mercer, Personal Activities Lead, explained: “Gardening is a really good activity for our residents with dementia to do, as it can stimulate lots of the senses. Shirley and May both helped me to plant flowers in the hanging baskets and planters around the sensory garden. The garden now looks beautiful, and I want to thank Shirley and May for their help.”

Once to residents washed the dirt off their hands, Elvis entered the building to celebrate May’s 86th birthday. The residents, her family and the team all helped her to celebrate by singing and dancing to Elvis.
