A special ceremony held at South Park Care Home in York last week commended the continued hard work and dedication of the team as they strive to bring joy to residents lives each day.
Dr Claire Royston, a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Four Seasons Health Care, presented the awards to the team and thanked them for their continued commitment to providing special experiences for their residents.
The first award presented by Dr Royston was to Mark Jacob, who has been the Maintenance Man at South Park Care Home for 19 years.
Joanne Fisher, Home Manager, said: “Mark is a fantastic member of the team. No job is too big for him, and he’s more than happy to help anyone with anything they require. I want to thank Mark for his continued dedication to everyone here at South Park.”
The second part of the ceremony saw team members being Recognised for Care and Kindness (ROCK) with Four Season’s very own ROCK Awards.
The Personal Activities Leader, Norma Vine, received two separate nominations - one from a resident and one from a resident’s family – about Norma’s commitment to ensuring the residents always have something to do.
One of Norma’s nominations read: “Organises the activity projects for the residents; drawing, cooking, decorating cakes, hat making - too much to mention all. She is always very cheerful, gets relatives involved singing in the team room. She makes our visits and the residents’ lives so much happier. A very bubbly, caring, lovely lady - she makes a happy mood as soon as she enters the room.”
Mair Evans, Care Assistant also received an award, with a relative saying: “very caring and goes the extra mile. A lovely lady.”
The final award that Dr Royston presented was to the whole team at South Park Care Home. As a resident had commended each and every member of the team for their work, stating that they were all positive and provided fantastic care.
On receiving the award, Joanne Fisher, Home Manager, said: “I’m totally overwhelmed that we’ve received this award. It’s really nice to hear such kind words, especially by those who rely on us on a day to day basis. Here at South Park we strive to deliver top quality care to our residents, and we will continue to do this on a day to day basis.”
A ROCK award is a nationwide honour that specifically highlights the impact a Four Season Health Care employee has made on the lives of people living in one of their care homes. An internal prize, staff are nominated for an award by either residents, their relatives or friends, who have witnessed or experienced staff members demonstrating excellent standards of care and kindness in their role.
