Working in the care profession, you often make special relationships, not only with the residents in your care but their relatives as well.
In some instances, the care team are often seen as an extended member of the family.
At Havencourt Care Home in Stonehaven received a very special thank you from the granddaughter of a resident that unfortunately passed away recently. The thank you card and painting praised the efforts of the team at the home.
Alyssa, aged 13, wrote: “To the staff at Havencourt Care Home.
“Thank you for looking after my pop and treating him like family while he was in care.
“It means a lot to know that he was treated well right up until the end of his life. I think it’s great that there are people like all of you that have a passion for caring for others.
“When I am older (I am 13 now) I would like to volunteer at the care home and get to know all the people that live there.
“Many thanks for all of your hard work and dedication to my pop.”
