St Helen’s have a roaring World Animal Day

Everyone let their inner animal take over in St Helens Care Home in Bishop Auckland as residents, their guests and the care team celebrated World Animal Day.

World Animal Day is celebrated on Tuesday 4th October each year and aims to raise the status of animals to improve their welfare standards around the globe, making the world a better place for animals.

The team helped everyone get in the mood to embrace their love for animals by dressing up as a variety of animals from across the globe, before engaging in some pet therapy with their residential dog.

Janet Wright, Home Manager, said: “Everyone had a great day. It’s nice to have an excuse to bring animals into the home as everyone loves a good cuddle off an animal.
