The sunshine has definitely worked wonders for the residents at Henderson House Care Home in Dalgety Bay.
You may have read recently that they went and enjoyed a chippy tea at Aberdour. Now it seems they’ve taken a little piece of Italy and plonked it into North Queensferry.
The residents went out for a trip around the town, and due to the hot weather indulged in some gelato – a Cornetto to be precise. The residents were in such high spirits they sang, ‘Just one Cornetto’ to the bus driver as they returned back to the home.
Stewart MacDonald, Home Manager, said: “The residents had a lovely day visiting the town. However, they did continue to sing when they came back to the home. I’ve never heard the line ‘just one cornetto, give it to me!’ sang so loudly in my entire life. The residents never stopped smiling, and it’s great to show that although they may no longer live in their home address, they’ve lost none of their independence.”
Another recent trip out saw some of the residents indulge in a spot of lunch at The Compass in Dalgety Bay. However, residents don’t just jet set around the local area. Some of them have recently enjoyed basking in the sun in the summer house at the home.
Steward MacDonald added, “We cater for everyone’s needs here. Ideally we’d like to take everyone out on the trips we run, but some would much prefer to stay at home. There a still plenty of things for them to do here. The summer house is proving a big hit, especially with the warmer weather.”
