Last week Flower Park Care Home in Doncaster opened its doors to the local community, and welcomed everyone in for a vintage sing along. The event was held as part of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.
Amanda Searle, Home Manager, said: “The evening was a huge success. Our lounge was filled not only with residents, but people from the local community, including councillor Sandra Holland and her mum. Everyone enjoyed the sing along, with some fantastic songs being belted out.
“The feedback we received after the event was superb. A lot of the praise was for Angela’s (Personal Activities Leader) mum’s scones.
“Thanks to this event we have made some fantastic links within the community, and I’m sure these will continue to go from strength to strength as time continues.”
The event also saw Flower Park run a raffle which secured £40 for the resident’s fund.
