The UK has been basking in glorious weather over the past few days, and South Park Care Home in York took full advantage of it.
The home held a spring fair, complete with a raffle and other fun activities, to raise money for the residents fund. The fair was also the perfect platform for Home Manager Joanne Fisher to reward embers of the team who had achieved a number of milestones. The first of the celebrations recognised the long service of two members of the team.
Joanne Fisher said: “In the care industry continuity is extremely important to the people in our care. It’s great to be able to present these Long Service Awards to the team. Not only does it recognise their commitment, but it shows residents and their families that we’re here for the long haul.”
The fair also saw the South Park Housekeeper Caroline awarded with a ROCK award for her continued hard work and dedication to the residents.
Joanne added: “Everyone had a fantastic day, which was helped a lot by the weather. I want to take this opportunity to thank the team for their continued support and outstanding work.”
A ROCK award is a nationwide honour that specifically highlights the impact a Four Season Health Care employee has made on the lives of people living in one of their care homes or day centre. An internal prize, staff are nominated for an award either by residents, their relatives, or friends, who have witnessed or experienced staff members demonstrating excellent standards of care and kindness in their role.
