A special celebration was held at Murdoch House Care Home in Wokingham this week, as one of the residents celebrated her 101st birthday.
Iris, who was born in 1915, celebrated the landmark event with her family, other residents and the team at the home. She enjoyed a lunch out with her family, before being surprised back at the home with a selection of flowers and a birthday tea.
Christine Tyrrell, Home Manager said: “Everyone had a lovely day celebrating Iris’ birthday. Iris is a wonderful story teller and everyone at the home enjoys hearing her stories and realising how much the world has changed over the last century. It really is an eye opener, and I’m glad we’ve all been able to celebrate this special day with her.”
