Woodview Care Home in Lincoln celebrated Care Home Open Day in their own special way, by making animals the centre of attention for the residents and visitors to the home.
Naomi Allen, Personal Activities Leader, explained: “We had a great day at Woodview. In the morning we did a jungle themed painting, featuring a parrot! This was a group activity which anyone could get involved in.
“In the afternoon we had an animal encounter run by Lincoln pets and reptiles. We got to see lots of different animals. There were some parrots, baby rabbits, a chameleon, a bearded dragon, a tortoise, a very cuddly skunk and some baby merecats. The skunk, called Lily, was very popular among the residents, whilst the chameleon took a shining to our administrator Sarah, spending quite some time sitting on her head! It was a great afternoon and we enjoyed meeting all the animals.
“On Saturday 18th we hosted our summer fete. We had refreshments, games, stalls and a raffle. We had a nice sunny afternoon and even enjoyed sponging some of the staff!
