Woodview residents try their hand at making ice cream

Residents at Woodview Care Home in Lincoln have been trying their hand at making ice cream on recent trips to a local dairy farm.

Louise Lawson, Home Manager, said: “Over the past couple of weeks the residents have been enjoying special experiences of going out to visit Daisy Maid, a local farm. There they’ve tried to make ice cream, but also done the important taste tests of the farms homemade produce. Not content with just eating ice cream, the residents have also played on the mini golf course and pet and fed the animals that are on the farm. It really is a fun day out, with lots to do and see.”

After returning from their latest trip, the residents told us: “We very much enjoyed feeding the goats and seeing calves and rabbits too. We also tried many ice cream flavours from the café including lemon, peach, mint choc chip, Irish cream and vanilla. We are looking forward to going back and sampling more of the flavour selections throughout the summer.”
