We all know how nice it is to add your own homely touches when you move into a place. Choosing the colours for your walls, adding photos and other sentimental touches can make an empty shell feel like home.
This is something the residents at Bracknell Care Home in Bracknell have embraced. With the help and support of Personal Activities Leader Tasha Corbett and the Maintenance Team, residents are actively encouraged to put their own touches in their rooms.
Natsayi Dunira, Home Manager, explains: “Here at Bracknell we believe each resident should be allowed to paint and select the colour of rooms in the home, this makes them feel more involved and that Bracknell is a home from home for them. By giving the residents creative licence, it helps them to create their own personal space, and an activity that is very bespoke to them. I love the colours we have here at Bracknell. It definitely feels very homely, and it’s nice to know the residents helped us to create it.”
