50s Inspired Diner helps residents to reminisce

It was a trip back to the 50s for residents, relatives and the care team in Campsie View Care Home in Glasgow as they held a party to mark the official opening of their newly themed diner.

Decked out with vinyls from the era on the walls, it’s very own juke box and much more, the residents partied the afternoon away reminiscing on some of their favourite sounds of the era.

Katy Jenks, Home Manager, said: “Having themed rooms is a lovely way to help our residents reminisce about their younger years whilst enjoyed their golden ones. The 50s party went off with a bang and everyone had a lovely time. The vinyls are definitely a talking point between the residents and their families, with some of the younger generation being a little confused with what they are.”
