Residents at Charnwood Care Home in Carlton have been getting busy in the kitchen as they’ve started to make their own bread.
Chris Harpham, Home Manager, said: “The smell of bread was absolutely lovely. All the residents were telling me you can’t beat the taste of a home baked loaf. The residents really enjoyed making the bread, although not as much as eating it. It was a nice activity to see them get their teeth into.”
Not only was bread on the menu, but the residents also turned their hands to pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.
Chris Harpham added: “After the ‘flip off’ the residents tucked into their pancakes enjoying the variety of toppings to make them sweet or savoury. It’s definitely been a time for baking here at Charnwood.”
