Animal lovers welcome Guide Dogs in to Brighton home

Two four legged friends bounded into Dane House Care Home in Brighton last week to provide some pet therapy for the residents in the home.

Barbara Evans, Home Manager, explained: “Animals have a calming effect on people. Whether you settle down and pet your cat or dog, cuddle a guinea pig or rabbit, your stresses just ebb away as you relax. Everyone in the home enjoyed meeting these particular four legged friends. A lot of our residents are animal lovers, and having the opportunity to get up close and personal with animals is a special experience for them. The dogs had such a positive impact on the residents that we’ve decided to make their visits a regular thing. I’m sure some of the residents will try and hide them in their room to stop them from going home.”
