Wish helps residents get in the Country and Western mood

Residents at Hallgarth Care Home in Durham have been gearing up for their country and western themed day. What better way to do it, than welcoming a pony for everyone to get up close and personal with.

Angela Muir, Home Manager, said: “We had the pleasure of an afternoon with ‘Wish upon a Star’ who is a miniature horse from America, and part of a pony therapy group who visit residents in care homes.

“Wish was adorable and so pleased to be center of attention. She was petted, stroked and talked to, given cuddles and even sang to. She visited residents all around the home, even those in their room which was greatly appreciated.

“Wish is definitely a lady of style with her glittery hooves and diamantes on her bridal, and what’s more she didn’t leave us any unexpected surprises anywhere in the home.

“Watch this space for our country and western themed event in the coming weeks.”
