On Friday 23rd December, Howdon Care Centre in Wallsend welcomed the Newcastle Baptist Church Choir through its doors for a very festive performance.
Ruth Todd, Home Manager, explained: “We were honoured to have the Newcastle Baptist Church Choir come and sing Christmas carols to our residents. They came bearing gifts, which was completely unexpected. All of our residents got a goody bag with a book and chocolates in. After singing in the main lounges, they then went on to sing to the residents who weren’t able to get out of bed in their rooms. They were a massive hit in the home and we’ve arranged to have them come and sing to us on a monthly basis. I’m looking forward to their next gig.”
