We all have that one hobby we are passionate about. Whether that’s reading, baking, mathematics, the choices really are endless.
Just because you live in a care home doesn’t mean you should stop the activities you enjoy. This has certainly been the case at The Beaufort Care Home in Coventry. Resident Ray and his wife Brigid baked some lovely cakes for everyone to enjoy. Ray enjoys baking as it helps him to relax. Making the cakes for his fellow residents always goes down well too.
Taj and Margaret have a love of counting money. This is due to them both dealing with it on a daily basis, especially Margaret as she used to work in a shop.
Debra Buckley, Home Manager, said: “It’s nice to see the residents partaking in activities they enjoy. Life doesn’t have to stop just because you live in a care home, and special experiences like this can go a long way.”
Another special experience the residents enjoyed involved welcoming The Herbert Gallery in who came and talked all things Coventry. Residents enjoyed looking at pictures and artefacts from Coventry’s past.
