Alfie the Westie, popped into The Cedars and Larches Care Home in Ilkeston to say hello to the residents and get lots of cuddles.
Nina Wright, Home Manager, said: “Alfie came to see us after tea and was a great success with the residents who all went to bed with pre-bedtime snuggles from him. This proved very relaxing and comforting for our animal loving residents.”
Animals have a calming effect on people. Whether you settle down and pet your cat or dog, cuddle a guinea pig or rabbit, your stresses ebb away as you relax. Our residents really enjoyed pet therapy; it is a special way we can make a difference to their lives
