Staff at Marlborough Court Care Home in Thamesmead, London were recent winners of the 'Best Care Team' Award in the National finals of The Great British Care Awards, a national competition which attracts over ten thousand entries from across the UK.
Marlborough Court Care Home in Thamesmead, London recently received a VIP visit from Dr Jan Sheldon (CEO RAD - Royal Association for Deaf) as part of the homes commitment to the Department of Health's "Dementia Pledge."
The two day conference held in Belfast consisted of Home Managers from each of our smaller regions as well as central office staff – CEO, Chairman, IT, procurement, and Finance and Terra Firma, with exhibitions from Hillrom, Renray, Primcare and Optomise. As well as the Minister for Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Edwin Poots, who spoke at the event.
On Friday 15th March 2013 Cedars Care Home in Doncaster, Yorkshire held a dress down and entertainment day in aid of the Comic Relief Charity. There was a cake stall with all the tasty cakes been baked by both the staff and the residents of Cedars Care Home. Everyone wore red noses and the entertainment consisted of lots of music making with Maracas and Bells. The whole day was a success in terms of the fun the residents had and in the total of £25 that was raised on the day.
Staff at Marlborough Court Care Home, Thamesmead, are preparing for the national finals of The Great British Care Awards, being held in central London on Saturday 20th April. They are finalists in the "Best Care Team" category, having beaten many other homes to win as best team in London.
