The Parkland's Care Home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire opened up their new on-site hair salon with raging reviews from the residents. The official opening day was held on the 4th April 2013 and the clients came rolling in. Mrs J Morgan the new hairdresser, after seeing how much happiness the day brought to the residents, said that she was "so thrilled to be part of the team Parklands Care Home".
This year's community Easter Egg hunt took place at recently at Rydal Care Home - followed by entertainment from the fantastic singing trio, Musicals North. Everyone in the local community was invited to search the grounds for hidden eggs which could then be traded in for a prize. This was a great chance for local children to bulk up their chocolate stash in time for the end of lent on Easter Sunday. It was great to see the gleeful grin from the winning children and for everyone to have a great time. Adel the Home manager said, "The residents loved seeing the children at play and the smiles from some of the older ladies was worth millions."
Donald Ballantyne, a resident and friend living with us at Rydal Care home will be celebrating the big nine zero later this month. We’ll be cracking open the fizzy stuff and having a right old fashioned knees up. Home baked birthday cake, music and dancing and of course a bit of bubbly (whiskey for Donald) will mark the occasion with a big bang.
