Warm tributes have been paid to a grand old lady of South Tyneside who died just three days short of her 103rd birthday. Margaret Ramsay was so popular with staff and fellow residents at The Lodge Care Home that they decided to still hold her birthday party in her honour. Music, drinks and happy memories were all on the menu as friends celebrated a long life well lived. Home Manager John Sheills said "She was an absolutely lovely lady. She had been with us for over a year and was very lively, she lived every moment to the full and if I didn’t pop in to say hello every morning, she’d make sure to find out why. We decided the party should go ahead in her honour".
