As recent regional winners in the Great British Care Awards, Marlborough Court Care Home in Thamesmead, London was paid a special visit by Norman Lamb MP (Minister for Care and Support). Mr Lamb had expressed a keen interest in meeting a selection of award winners, as he wished to discuss care issues with those who could demonstrate excellence and innovation in healthcare.
Julie Davies, Care Assistant at Birchdale Care Home Gateshead was presented with the Recognition of Caring and Kindness (ROCK) Award by The Lord Mayor of Gateshead, Mr Jack Graham. The event was also attended by Regional Manager Tracie White and fellow Home Managers; Ian Hindhaugh from Rosemount Care Home and Andrew Lamb from Dolphin View Care Home who came to show their support.

On National Care Home Open Day Millbrow Care Home in Widnes opened up their home all week long and held a selection of events that catered for both their Residents and for members of the community.

On National Care Home Open Day The Parklands Care Home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire held a summer barbecue and invited the local community. The day started at 10:30am-11:30am with Prize Bingo (all proceeds went to the homes sponsored charity Autism Plus) and Entertainment from the Resident’s favourite Entertainer, Rosanna Jane made an appearance in the afternoon. There was also a live link to the local radio station, TMCR!
