Tony and Hazel Waterer, both residents at Ringshill inHuntingdon, Cambs, recently celebrated their 60 year wedding anniversary with their daughter Kim Dorothy amongst their friends at Ringshill Care Home, management and care staff.
On Friday 26 September 2014, Ringshill Care Home in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire held a successful cake sale for their Macmillan’s 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' and raised £117.83. All cakes and biscuits were lovingly made by Head Chef, Paula Jones and the coffee morning was attended by residents, staff and relatives.
On Friday 26 September 2014, Ivyhouse Care Home in Birmingham held a fundraising event for Macmillan’s 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' and raised over £100. Residents and relatives were invited to the Library for cake, a cuppa and a chat. Personal Activities Leader, Debbie Living and Housekeeper, Lorraine Munnerley led the activities; Debbie held baking sessions with residents prior to the event and their victoria sponge and tarts went down a treat. Lorraine baked a number of cakes in her own time for the event including some amazing chocolate and pecan brownies, lemon drizzle and a sensational swirly marble cake. Other staff supported the event by buying lots of cakes and paying to take part in competitions such as 'guess the number of hundreds and thousands on the cake'.
Cedars Care Home recently held their Annual Summer Fayre with entertainment. There was a raffle, tombola, bric-a-brac, sweet and cake stalls. The day was a great success and they managed to raise £472 for the residents social fund account from the stalls and games sales.
