Dove-Court-Care-Home-Kettering-Remembrance-Day-2016

26 Nov 2016

On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month we all take a moment to remember those who have fought for our Queen and country over many decades.

Residents at Dove Court Care Home in Kettering paid their respects by creating a lovely piece of art that they then displayed in their home.

Wendy Fall, Home Manager, said: “Our residents wanted to do something special to mark Remembrance Day. They wanted to commemorate the first and second World Wars in particular. They stood in front of their artwork while they remembered the fallen. It now hangs pride of place in our home.”

Min, one of the residents on the trip was brought up close to the harbour and really enjoyed the day out. She said; “It was a bit blustery but that’s proper sea air, and it blows all the cobwebs away.”

“Moira, another resident on the trip, enjoyed having her tea and sharing her biscuits with the local population of starlings,” said Home Manager, Angela Muir. “She counted about 60 in all. Moira is an avid bird watcher and explained to the group how to spot the difference between each bird.

Our residents love these trips and are already looking forward to the next trip.”
