Clarice, a resident at Valley View Care Home in Cefn Hengoed, recently celebrated her 100th birthday with friends and family in an enjoyable afternoon of party games and most importantly - cake!
Clarice was over the moon with her telegram sent from her Majesty the Queen wishing her many happy returns on her special day. The team arranged a small birthday party for Clarice inviting her family along to join in. A cake was also made for Clarice which she was especially impressed by.
Rebecca Kenchinton, Acting Home Manager, said: "We all had a fun afternoon celebrating with Clarice, she was so pleased when her special telegram arrived from the Queen and said she will forever cherish it."

The team at Laurels Lodge Care Home in Woodside have been honoured for their "love, care and attention" given to a late resident.
A relative wrote a heartfelt letter explaining how thankful she was for finding Laurels Lodge. She wrote "The love, care and attention given to Mum in the last 2 years of her life has been second to none.... You all treated me so well and I will always be forever in your debt. I will certainly miss my visits to Laurel's."
To thank the team, Sheila Gesma (Home Manager) presented the team with a Recognition of Care and Kindness award as a way of appreciation. A small awards ceremony was arranged and the relative was able to thank the team personally for all they have done.
Sheila explained: "I am proud of my staff for all their hard work and commitment - they deserve the recognition."
