In their one-to-one Arts and Crafts sessions over the last few weeks, residents at Hallgarth Care Home in Durham have been taking a walk on the wild side with their paintings.
In preparation for World Animal Day, they have been creating some spectacular jungle themed paintings to hang on the walls throughout October. They have painted various animals from Giraffes to Flamingos to help turn their home into a jungle paradise.
Angela Muir, Home Manager, told us: "The residents love getting stuck in at their Arts and Craft sessions. The paintings they have created have been amazing and will really add some character to the home for October. We plan to go on safari, so to speak, for World Animal Day so watch this space for more fun from Hallgarth!"

Residents from Murdoch House Care Home in Wokingham were a little disappointed when the weather prevented them from going to the seaside.
That’s when the care team at the home sprang into action, and planned a beach day with a difference. On Friday 16th September 2016 they brought the seaside into the comfort of Murdoch House.
Christine Tyrrell, Home Manager, explained: “The care team pulled out all of the stops and really made our residents’ day. We built sandcastles, ate sticks of rock and fish and chips out of the paper whilst watching the Punch and Judy show, which went down well with young and old alike. Everyone had a fantastic day and the resident got to enjoy spending time at the ‘seaside’ with their relatives without getting sand everywhere. I look forward to using our indoor seaside more often!”
