Residents, relatives and the care team at Bon Accord Care Home in Hove have enjoyed lots of difference activities over recent weeks.

Residents have enjoyed baking and icing cakes which went down a treat following their Sunday lunch with all the trimmings.

Poppy and Max visited the home to provide some pet therapy to the residents. Who doesn’t enjoy cuddles with a lovely little pooch? Once the four legged friends had gone the residents enjoyed a little ‘do’ complete with dancing, feather boas and funny hats.

Barbara Evans, Home Manager, said: “Fun is definitely on the menu here at Bon Accord Care Home. It’s great to see everyone enjoying the range of activities here at Bon Accord. We have many more fun days to come.”

North-Court-Care-Home-Cramlington-National-Picnic-Week-2017

It may have been National Picnic week, but Yogi Bear and BooBoo were nowhere near North Court Care Home in Bury St Edmunds to pinch any picnic baskets.

The residents enjoyed bespoke picnic boxes that were lovingly made by the activities team and Home Manager.

Ieleen Belen, Home Manager, said: “We all thoroughly enjoyed our picnic in the garden, with the sounds of Glenn Miller in the background and the beautiful weather. It’s safe to say a fabulous time was had by all.

Tudor-Grange-Care-Home-Wollaton-Park-Visit-June-2017

Residents from Tudor Grange Care Home in Radcliffe-on-Trent enjoyed a trip to Wollaton Park, making the most of the British Summer.

Anita Wyke, Home Manager, said: “We had a lovely sunny day and made the most of a walk around the lake and grounds. We then made the most of a picnic in the courtyard. Some of our resident hadn’t visited the park for years, but remembered bringing their children here in years gone by.”

Mount-Lens-Care-Home-Belfast-Butterfly-Farm-June-2017

Residents, relatives and the care team from Mount Lens Care Home in Belfast enjoyed a recent trip to a butterfly farm in nearby Kirkpatrick.

There was lots of magic and wonder as residents entered the butterfly kingdom.

Jolly Shubu, Home Manager, said: “This trip wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the Mount Lens family and local community. They helped us t raise funds which helped to fund the trip/ The sun was shining and a good day was had by all.”

Howdon-Care-Centre-Wallsend-Teddy-Bear-picnic-June-2017

If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure for a big surprise. Residents at Howdon Care Centre in Wallsend enjoyed a lovely teddy bear’s picnic.

The picnic signalled the end of carers week, and was a way for the Howdon family to say thank you for making a difference.

The residents took the time to thank the team and presented them with thank you cards.

Ruth Todd, Home Manager, said: “It’s nice to feel appreciated. If it wasn’t for the residents then we wouldn’t be here. I want to thank everyone at Howdon. We’re one big happy family!”
