Residents at Marlborough Court Care Home in Thamesmead welcomed students from the local school in last week to talk fashion.
Louise Hulme, Home Manager, said: “The students helped the residents decorate their new scrap books, which involved them choosing which trends from the latest fashion the ladies should try. This activity was to help the students gain a greater insight into what it’s like living with dementia. The ladies were all happy with the boys’ choices and are out soon to buy their frocks for the Christmas ball. After seeing what’s on offer, they want to arrive in style to the ball.”

A couple of weeks ago, we shared the news that children from ‘Best Child Nursery’ popped into Harrogate Lodge Care Home in Leeds for some fun and games.
Following on from their visit, the children wrote a lovely letter to the residents, which read:
“To all our friends at Harrogate Lodge
“We have loved visiting you at your home and talking to you about what we like to do at nursery. We are excited to see you every week and play games with you.
“We will see you again very soon.
“Lots of love, all the children at Best Childcare Nursery xxx”
Shannon Berry, Unit Manager, said: “Our residents really enjoyed the children singing and the children loved listening to the stories the residents told them. It’s nice to see the generational gap being bridged and both parties extremely happy.”
