August 2017 saw Four Seasons’ Health Care Lothian Region launch their VIP (Values In Practice) initiative which rewards people for living the Four Seasons values of being:
- Making a Difference
This month the team member with the most votes was Personal Activities Leader Angela Leake from Gilmerton Care Home in Edinburgh.
Tracey Howell, Home Manager, said: “Since Angela joined the activities team she has made a vast difference to the lives of the residents here at Gilmerton. She shows an unrivalled enthusiasm for her role and her way with people is very moving. She manages to get the balance of activities just right, with lots of social and group activities and very personal one to one sessions using reminiscence and “playlist for life” to engage with residents who find communication difficult. She has a great skill in sourcing lot of free activities and charming people into taking part and donating in one way or another. She just gets it and displays a selfless attitude with residents experience being at the heart of all she does.”
Anne-Marie McKeich, Regional Manager for Lothian, said: “No matter how big or small the action or the gesture is, the VIP Awards are an opportunity to say thank you to people who go above and beyond the call of duty every day to make a difference to our residents’ lives. Congratulations Angela, you should be really proud of your success.”
