April 2017 saw Four Seasons’ Health Care Grampian Region launch their VIP (Values In Practice) initiative which rewards people for living the Four Seasons values of being:
- and Making a Difference
Doreen Mitchell, Care Assistant at The Meadows Care Home in Huntly has been crowned VIP for the month of April after being nominated by colleagues, residents and relatives.
Elaine Crawford, Home Manager, said: “Doreen goes above and beyond her role as care assistant for many of the residents. She buys treats for them from her own money and will give up her time off unpaid to come in and do something with them or take them out shopping. Doreen is valued by her team members as she will always try to help out if the team is short even if it’s only for a few hours. She will come in early for her shifts and help night staff and often stays on unpaid to help at the end of her shift.”
Sylvia Nicoll, Regional Manager for Grampian, said: “No matter how big or small the action or the gesture is, the VIP Awards are an opportunity to say thank you to people who go above and beyond the call of duty every day to make a difference to our residents’ lives.
“I want to congratulate Doreen, you should all be really proud of your success.”
