The Huntercombe Group, one of the UK's leading specialist healthcare providers, has appointed Valerie Michie as Chief Executive Officer. She is currently Managing Director of Serco Health.
She has successfully achieved a turnaround in business performance and plotted significant growth for Serco in the UK, Middle East and Australia, by following her underlying belief in improving quality and enhancing the patient experience.
The Huntercombe Group is the specialist care business of Four Seasons Health Care, the UK's largest independent elderly and specialist care provider, which is owned by Terra Firma, a leading private equity firm. Huntercombe has 60 hospitals and specialist units providing care, treatment and rehabilitation services in areas of mental health and brain injury.
Valerie Michie has previously held senior management positions at Serco Integrated Services, Alfred McAlpine Business Services and KPMG consulting. She is a board member of HealthcareUK and the chair of the CBI health committee. She is expected to take up her appointment with The Huntercombe Group in the summer.
