Layden hold coffee morning and talk about dementia

Making the decision to move yourself or a loved one into a care home can be a difficult and confusing experience. Understanding not only their care needs but the next steps if your loved one has been diagnosed with dementia can often be a mine field in itself.

Getting advice from people is a great way to make an informed choice regarding the next steps to take.

That’s why Jenny Hololob, Home Manager at Layden Court Care Home in Maltby held a Dementia Coffee morning, to help raise awareness of the disease and offer advice to people weighing up their options.

Jenny Hololob explains: “The dementia coffee morning gave people the opportunity to come into the home and get a feel of what life is life. I and the rest of the team were on hand to answer any questions which will hopefully helped when it came to deciding the next steps for people. The coffee morning was a great success, and the residents also enjoyed the opportunity to chat to people who came through the door.”
