There were big celebrations at Longfield Care Home this week as the home marked its 20 year anniversary since opening.
The Mayor of Derry City, Councillor Michaela Boyle, presented Housekeeper Dolores O’Doherty with a 20 years long service award and also presented resident Margaret Quigley with an award for being the longest standing resident at the home, having lived at Longfield for 17 years!
Also in attendance were Colm and Mena Moore, who originally designed, built and opened Longfield, and Mena was presented with a beautiful bunch of flowers.
The residents enjoyed meeting the Mayor, who took the time to have a chat and meet with each resident, and everyone then enjoyed a buffet of treats and a special celebration cake!
