Homes in the Durham area are currently running a 'Three Wishes' project, which aims to fulfill the wishes of residents with special trips, days out and experiences.
As part of this project Hollie Hill Care Home in Stanley took resident Dennis to visit the school where he worked as a caretaker for many years.
Head Teacher Mrs Barker recognised Dennis and showed him around, talking to him about how the school had been when he worked there.
Dennis, who lives with dementia, recognised the school and tried to talk while pointing to places he obviously remembered. He smiled throughout his visit and seemed to really enjoy the experience.
