At Tudor Grange Care Home, we had the pleasure of celebrating Resident Alec’s 101st birthday!
Alec spent the day opening his presents and cards wishing him a wonderful day. Alec invited the other residents to join him in celebrating with a birthday buffet which was enjoyed whilst being entertained by singer and violinist Rachel.
Alec grew up in Colston Basset and at 17 years old, he went on to join the army. He spent two years as a prisoner of war, where he had to work on the death railway in Thailand.
Alec has traveled the world enjoying cruises, he is a keen dancer and used to run dance classes locally with his wife.
Now Alec loves gardening and with the weather getting warmer, he enjoys planting different vegetables in the vegetable patch.
Resident Joyce attended Alec’s birthday celebrations, she said: “Happy birthday Alec! I really enjoyed the birthday celebrations I thought it was a great day. I hope Alec had fun, I really enjoyed singing along to all the songs.”
