One of our lovely residents, Anne, shared her flower pressing skills with us this week at Hallgarth Care Home. Anne used to press flowers with her sister when they were younger and that inspired her to be the avid gardener that she is now.
We love learning new things here at Hallgarth so Anne talked us through the whole flower pressing process which was very interesting. We went on a walk round the Hallgarth grounds and found 18 different 18 different wild flowers and then placed in the flower press. After waiting paitently for a month we opened the press and the flowers were revealed! Anne took great pride in organising each flower to perfection in her open book display.
Resident, Anne, said “People are in such a hurry now and don’t see the beauty that surrounds them even weeds have flowers and have their own beauty.”
