Residents at Aspen Lodge Care Home enjoyed a session organised by Phil the Maintenance Man and Dawn and Nina Personal Activity Leads for the residents to pot different types of seeds.
Sunflowers were sown in the residents specific named pots and will be transplanted at a later to date to be subject to a local competition!
Various other seeds were sown such as dwarf sunflowers, lupins, nasturtium and sweet peas. The sweet pea flowers will be picked when ready to display on the tables in the dining room.
Runner beans were also sown and these will be utilised by the kitchen along with other the other foods that will be grown in the ongoing project to create a vegetable and salad garden.
