The Headington Care Home has been rated “good” by the health watchdog.
Residents living at The Headington, in Oxford, enjoy a calm, pleasant atmosphere with supportive and respectful staff, reported the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection.
When asked about the staff, one resident said: “They tell me I’m very much loved, which delights me because it’s all so genuine. As far as I’m concerned, it’s first class.”
Another resident followed with: “This is a great place as far as I’m concerned, this is the last place that I shall live so that is important to me.”
The report praised the home for its individualised care, transparent culture and the introduction of a ‘Living my Choices’ booklet that captures residents’ life stories in pictures.
Residents at The Headington described staff as “wonderful” and thanked them for “doing the little things”.
Families and staff told the watchdog that the management team had a “visible daily presence” in the home and “led very much by example”.
Fiona Williams, Managing Director – England South, for Four Seasons Health Care, said: “We strive to provide the best possible care at The Headington and it is great to see that the hard work the staff and home management put in is being recognised. We are especially pleased to see the positive feedback from our residents as the quality of their care is our top priority.”
