Celebrating success with Whittington Awards

Whittington Care Home in Chesterfield looked back on the past year in the home and presented awards to colleagues for their achievements and contributions.

Employee of the year was awarded jointly to the Domestic Team of Carol, Kath, Dean, Wendy, Ellen, Deanne, Carol, Paula and Christine.

The recognition was for their hard work in ensuring that the home is always clean and tidy. The team go above and beyond what is expected from them by helping to support residents at meal times, and monitoring the lounges when required.

Senior Manager Wendy Johnson said:

"You never hear the Domestic Team complain; they always come in with a smile on their faces and nothing is too much trouble. They have even supported another Four Seasons home during a challenging time."

Newcomer of the Year was awarded to Emma Harries, and Wendy commented:

"Emma has fitted in really well with the team and brings joy to our residents, especially when we have entertainment when she will sing and dance to ensure the residents have a good time.

Emma had limited experience in care before she started with us, and it’s been a pleasure to watch her skills and competence grow."

The final award was for Promoting Four Seasons Values and this was awarded to Care Assistants Jill and Dawn.

 Wendy said:

"Jill and Dawn really make a difference by going shopping for the residents on their days off and volunteering to take the residents out on day trips in their own time. Dawn even alters and fixes the residents' clothing when needed."

Congratulations to all the award winners and thank you for your commitment and hard work.
