Residents from Howdon Care Centre in Wallsend have enjoyed an action packed activities calendar over the festive period, meaning there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Everyone at the home came together to watch the North East Production’s ‘Puss in Boots’ pantomime which kicked the festive season off with a bang. With lots of shouts of ‘he’s behind you’ from the crowd it kept everyone on their toes.
Next up was Chivas the Chow Chow, who delivered lots of fluffy hugs in the form of pet therapy. Chivas always puts a smile on everyone’s faces and the fact that he also delivered some chocolate to the home made his visit even more sweet.
No Christmas activity would be complete without a Christmas meal. Residents and their families were invited to The Walls End pub for a three course meal with all of the trimmings including Christmas pudding with brandy sauce for desert.
Rounding off the Christmas activities the home welcomed Santa Claus and two of his naughty elves in who gave out some special presents to residents. The home also welcomed in the local primary school who sang carols, bringing back lots of fond memories for the residents.
