Residents, relatives and the care team at Copper Beeches Care Home in Kent got in the mood for love on Valentine’s Day.
Gabriele Jerome, Home Manager, explained: “The team made an effort and dressed up in 50s costumes and danced to rock and roll with the residents. Of course we had a slow dance too to mark that ‘love is in the air’ and James got up and danced with his wife Shirley to ‘ when I fall in love it will be forever’ by Nat King Cole and gave her a huge kiss at the end of the dance. This brought a tear to her eyes and she told us she was amazed that he got up and danced with her as he got severe dementia. Our resident all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it’s still talk of the day today.”
