CQC success for Pennine Lodge

The care team at Pennine Lodge Care Home are proud to have received a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following their most recent inspection.

The home was praised for its friendly atmosphere, warm and welcoming culture and rated ‘Good’ overall and in the categories inspected; Effective and Well-Led.

The CQC reported that: “People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff assisted them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.”

The report also noted that: “Staff worked alongside health and social care agencies to support the well-being of the people who live there.” And “Staff were attentive and friendly towards people. Staff were knowledgeable about people's individual preferences.”

Residents and their relatives described the home manager and team as "friendly", "helpful" and "kind" and commented on the "pleasant atmosphere", "good care" and "cheerful staff". A relative said: "They treat residents very well and like individuals." And "All nutritional needs are being met, my relative has advanced dementia and staff do everything to keep their weight up, softer foods and plenty of drinks and snacks."

Home Manager, Tracy, said: “I am so proud of the entire team who are committed to providing such wonderful care for our residents. We are passionate about helping our residents to enjoy a fulfilling day, every day and ensuring their health and happiness is at the heart of everything we do.”

Pennine Lodge Care Home is located in Carlisle, Cumbria and provides  residential carenursing care, residential dementia care, nursing dementia care, palliative careintermediate care and specialist care to support  mental health and learning disabilities.
