Congratulations to the team at The Sycamore and Poplars Care Home in Warsop, Mansfield, who are delighted to have received a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following their most recent inspection.
The home was praised for its happy atmosphere and supportive care and rated ‘Good’ in every inspection category; Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led.
The CQC reported that: “Staff had a kind and considerate approach to people. People's privacy and dignity was protected when personal care tasks were being carried out, and people were supported to remain independent by doing as much for themselves as they were able.” The report also noted that: “People were supported to engage in a range of individual and group activities within the care home if they chose to” and: “People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.”
Residents and their relatives told the CQC that: "The care staff go beyond basic duties; they are so kind and caring. They show so much empathy and understanding" and: "All the staff appear to be kind and cannot do enough for you."
A member of the care team, said: "I love working at the Sycamore as I feel staff genuinely care for the residents, they care about what is important to the residents, e.g. birthdays, and other events that residents share with us like the birth of grandchildren and great-grandchildren."
Regional Support Manager, Prathap Junjuri, said: “We are extremely proud of this achievement which is testament to the entire team’s commitment and dedication. Providing great care is all about putting our residents’ health and happiness at the heart of everything we do.”
The Sycamore and Poplars Care Home is located in Warsop, Mansfield and provides residential care, nursing care, residential dementia care, nursing dementia care, respite care, palliative care, intermediate care, day care, and specialist care to support mental health and learning disabilities.
