Creativity is blossoming at Moneymore

It’s NAPA Day of the Arts and Moneymore Care Home are excited to show how they’ve been getting creative.

Recently we took advantage of the warm weather and organised a flower arranging activity in our garden. All our beautiful and colourful flowers in our garden served as great inspiration for our residents’ arrangements. Our residents said they had a great time and they were extremely pleased with what they produced. We also run a jigsaw club as our residents find completing the puzzles to be very therapeutic and often we organise fun baking activities. Recently we decorated gingerbread men and our residents said it was great fun.

Prior to the lockdown, we partnered up with The Burnavon Theatre to take part in an exciting community arts outreach project. Our residents loved this activity as they were encouraged to use mixed media materials to create a series of fantastic art pieces. Our residents’ artwork was displayed at Burnavon Theatre for an exhibition. We’re all getting very excited now as we are waiting for the pieces to be delivered for us and we can’t wait to put them on display in our home!
