Durham students delight with choral concert for Hallgarth

Residents, staff and families from Hallgarth Care Home in Durham took a walk to St Oswald's Church Hall for a coffee afternoon run by Durham University students. It was a good chance to meet up with and chat to over 50's from the surrounding area and students from all over the world.

After tea, cake and a catch-up they had the pleasure of hearing a choral concert from Gray College Choir, who have performed in venues all across the city, most recently Drham Cathedral.

Resident Olwyn reminisced about her time as a teacher saying;

"It's many years since I took a class but no matter the age, the enthusiasm and spark over something a child does with enjoyment always brings pride."

After the concert the students and visitors got together again for more tea, cake and chatter!
