Enjoying the garden at Bishopsmead!

Residents at Bishopsmead Lodge Care Home have recently spending lots of time in the garden enjoying the sunny weather. This week to make the most of the weather our lovely Magic Moments team have arranged for all the fun activities to take place in our lovely garden.

When we knew it was going to be the hottest day of the year so far we decided to throw a cocktail party with a twist! Our lovely team member, Lauren, was our bar tender for the day and made the delicious cocktails which went down a treat.

Our residents love the sun but because it was the hottest day of the year we thought it would be fun to have a water fight! We all spent the afternoon shooting each other with water guns and having a great time. It really took some of our residents back to their childhood. It was smiles all round and a great way to spend such a sunny day.

Resident, Betty, said “I told my family and they were jealous that we are having more fun in here than they are!”

This week we also had the lovely Tracey to come in and sing for us in the garden. It was our first live performance for a while and our residents really enjoyed it! they requested the classics and sang along with the songs they knew. We had a full crowd of residents waving their hands and dancing along with the music.

We have been spending so much time in the garden we thought it would be nice if we could brng the outside in so on the days the weather isn’t as nice we can still enjoy nature. To do this we decided to pot some herb plants that our residents can have in their rooms. It’s going to be fun to care for them and watch them grow. When they are fully grown we will give them to our cooking club for them to use and make something delicious out of them.

Bishopsmead Lodge Care Home is located in Bishopsworth, Bristol and provides residential carenursing carepalliative carerespite care and intermediate care.
