The team at Evedale Care Home in Coventry received a lovely letter of thanks, commending them for their caring nature and how they made a difference, not only to a resident’s life, but also their relatives.
The letter read:
“May I express my sincere thanks to your team of caring staff. I was overwhelmed with the outstanding compassion and dignity shown to me on my recent visit. I can only imagine the same is shown to all of your residents.
“Unfortunately, I was slightly too late to be with my father as he passed away on Friday. But, it was heart-warming to see him so peaceful. As I sat by his bedside, I noticed how you had trimmed his fingernails (a job I that I was going to do on this visit), his skin was soft and he had been recently shaved – all of these provisions of care that were obviously missing during his stay in hospital. I also noticed the tranquil picture above the TV on the wall – my father would have enjoyed looking at this as it would have taken him back to his childhood when he played in the woodland where his father was a gamekeeper on a large country estate in North Yorkshire.
“Yvonne, you are clearly an amazing person and it sounds as though you have turned Evedale into an outstanding care home. Thank you once again to everyone in their care of my father.”
Yvonne Russon, Home Manager, said: “It’s always nice to receive praise from family members. The team here at Evedale treat residents as they would their own families, and this goes to show in this relative’s kind words. I’m very proud of the team here at Evedale. I also want to thank the relative for taking the time to write these lovely words.”
